Desolate ..
.. that is how I would describe YouTube. Desolate. Everyone has pretty much disappeared. The community hasnt really been together for about a year now. I was going to do a video in reaction to one of my good friends from the beginning officially leaving YouTube. I tried, but it just didnt come out right so its been postponed. Not much news with me. I started back up with part time work and its the same old. Its a decent job for now but I still got to apply for a job and call up on another one. This week I have to get my wisdom teeth out!! All 4 of them. I'm scared a little but they gotta go.

Good luck with the wisdom teeth. I've been postponing that for several years now, and it would have been better just to get it over with (well, hopefully). It's a good excuse to nap for a week, I'd say.
ReplyDeleteI saw her video leaving. It's so sad that a number of people I've watched have left. But, I don't think it's over. Some new people will show up, and maybe some old ones will return at some point. It seems like life is that way too-- friends come and go, but the good ones eventually reunite. I've been watching some of her and other folks videos for probably a year or more now, and now wish I'd gotten involved sooner instead of just watching without an account to comment or anything. Well, hopefully the people who are on a break now will come back when they're ready. Whether it's YouTube or some other site, I think/hope there's other folks in similar situations to add and get to know. Maybe weekly or monthly Skype chat parties or something would help people feel more connected again..?
Well, I haven't disappeared, but then again, I'm not "everyone". :o) I just hope that you don't consider disappearing.
ReplyDeleteAre you going to be asleep during the wisdom teeth removal? I've had both my upper ones taken out, but I still have the lowers. I'm not bothered by dentistry, but that wasn't always the case. I went from basically a butcher to a really great dentist and it made all the difference.

Im hoping that the people who have left come back just as much as they once were. And I would try explaining what I mean by "community" and the difference there is now but I dont know if everyone understands. I will say that what gets many of us to start doing videos is a particular person who is your role model, someone you watch for awhile and tried to be like them. Ive lived without mine for a long time now and what was keeping me doing this regularly was the collective whole of people on here but many people arent on or even watch or comment anymore. Im still on here and Ill make a video once Im better from my wisdom teeth being pulled which is taking a lot of time to recover. Thanks guys for the concern and feedback as always.
